Obasanjo Is Very Desperate To Ensure Atiku Doesn’t Become Nigeria’s President- Muazu Magaji Alleges

A former Military Head of State and Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Matthew Obasanjo on the 25th of June, 2022, revealed that picking his Vice-President in the build-up to the 1999 presidential election, is one of the biggest mistakes he has made in his lifetime.

Although, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo did not mention a name, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is currently running for the 2023 presidency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was his Vice-President throughout his eight year rule as Nigeria’s President.

While featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, 29th of September, 2022, a former Kano State gubernatorial aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muazu Magaji was asked if Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s several revelations on Atiku Abubakar will affect his chances of winning the 2023 presidential election.

Muazu Magaji revealed that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s relationship turned sour in the build-up to the 2003 presidential election, when Atiku Abubakar was backed to clinch the PDP’s 2003 presidential ticket instead of Olusegun Obasanjo, who was still in his first tenure.

Muazu Magaji further alleged that Olusegun Obasanjo is still not on right terms with Atiku Abubakar and is also very desperate to see that he does not become Nigeria’s President in 2023. The former Kano State gubernatorial aspirant acknowledged Olusegun Obasanjo’s contribution to Nigeria, but appealed to the former Nigerian President to step aside and allow the country to run a democratic leadership.
