As the race for the presidency gathers steam in Nigeria, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Shehu Sani has come out on social media to reveal the person he considers to be the most powerful factor in the upcoming general elections.
Taking to his verified Facebook page a few hours ago, the former Lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the 8th National Assembly stated that the most powerful person in the upcoming election is the voter, adding that their choice of the country’s next leader will have overarching consequences on them and their future generations.
Going further, PDP chieftain urged the electorate to scrutinize the various candidates in the race while shunning the temptation of voting along religious or ethnic lines.
“The most powerful factor in electoral politics is the Voter. If they make the right decision, they live safer and prosperous in reliable hands. If they make the wrong choices, everyone bears the consequences, including the future generation. The records, qualities and characters of those who want to lead the voter is open for a decision. You can use the lenses of religion or ethnicity to assess them. Every choice is packaged with it’s result,” he wrote.
