PDP Crisis: I Have Become An Enemy, Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State said he was viewed as an enemy by some because he insisted that the right thing should be done and that an agreement should stand. He said so during the commissioning of the Rumuepirikom flyover in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In a Channels Television report, Wike also apologized to former Edo governor Adams Oshiomole for working against him and his candidate during the Edo gubernatorial election. He learned his lesson and said that what is in the past should stay in the past.

According to Wike: “We are now friends, let bygones be bygones. I want to sincerely apologize to you. Each time you learn. People will praise you when you do for them. When you say, they are wrong, they begin to say all sorts of things. I’m sure those of them in my party before cannot do anything without Wike, but because I said let the right thing be done, let agreement be agreement, I have now become an enemy. These are people who are praising my morning and night.”

Wike has been at odds with the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) since the party’s presidential primary ended. Since Atiku Abubakar became the party’s presidential flag-bearer, Wike has called for the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national leader.
